In this one-day workshop, Daryl Michel, PhD, introduces the Student-Focused Coaching model and shows how it can be used to lift student achievement across your kura. Participants will explore how this approach strengthens curriculum implementation and elevates instructional quality.
All attendees will receive a copy of Dr Michel's book, Student Focused Coaching, co-written with Jan Hasbrouck.

About Daryl
- Daryl Michel, PhD, is an international consultant in instructional coaching, leadership, teacher education, disciplinary literacy, and lesson study. He is the founder of Be A Change, LLC, and coauthor of Student-Focused Coaching: The Instructional Coach’s Guide to Supporting Student Success Through Teacher Collaboration (Brookes Publishing, 2022) and Instructional Leadership in Student-Focused Coaching: Creating Effective Systems to Cultivate Student Success (Brookes Publishing, 2025)
- Dr. Michel also serves as a project manager for The University of Texas at the Austin Meadows Centre for Preventing Educational Risk, where he consults with district leadership to develop systemwide Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
- With more than three decades in education, he continues to follow his passion for learning with and from others and for advocating that all voices and perspectives be heard
